It has been years since we had decals made up. These are cut-vinyl paddler logos that can be applied to your car or boat. There are new boats and new paddlers. I would have some made up if I know how many people are interested. Please e-mail me at Joannhodge@msn.com and let me know if you would like a decal. Please put TNP in the subject line. Tell me how many and black or white. The cost for each would be around $4.00 depending how many are ordered.

• Take I-95 to Route 9 north (exit 69), at the West end of the Baldwin Bridge.
• Take Exit 3 off Route 9 North.
• At the bottom of the ramp turn left
.• At the first light turn right, and go about 1/2 mile, looking for the Essex Library on the left. Just past the library, and just before the Essex Town Hall, turn left onto Grove Street.
• Go to the first stop sign, and turn left onto North Main Street.
• North Main shortly becomes River Road (no turns required!)

2009 Kayakers Jamboree on the Norwalk Islands
Second Weekend in August 2009
Kayakers from all over Connecticut and lower NY and beyond are invited to come for a weekend long celebration of sea-kayaking in Long Island Sound. Paddle over for the day on either Saturday or Sunday, or Camp over night on Shea Island Friday and or Saturday.
Gerry Polinsky is co-hosting a SEA KAYAK SAFETY SEMINAR with the Commander of the New London Coast Guard Station. Lt. Commander Ely is a fellow kayaker and is catering this event to experienced paddlers. Also presenting is auxilarist Lillian Haines who is the district 1 (Maine to NJ) spokesperson for Operation Paddle Smart. Their presentation will include an overview of accident statistics, risk assessment and a summary of Coast Guard procedures in the event of an emergency.
Stan has received permission for us to launch at Hole-in-the-Wall beach in Niantic. We will substitute this instead of Quiambaug Cove on June 2nd: http://tnp.kayakforum.com/2009/mar/hole-wall

Annual gathering of kayak builders and those interested in building their own boats. Generally people gather on the lawn near the parking lot and swap boats. Informal paddles may go out to Pine Island and beyond.
